I am puzzled about Punzel!

I had a hard time with this weeks diva challenge. Punzel. wow. I fell into a deep horrific well and felt like i couldn't get this one right. I know there are no mistakes with "Zentangle" but i mistaked all over the place.. but I pulled up mu big girl panties and am posting this one anyway. i do not fell good about this one. Inferior is more like it.
So..with that in mind..I present to you my version of punzel..

  1. You're being way too hard on yourself. Your tangles look great!

  3. I LOVE your versions of punzel. Hold them in your hand as far away from your eyes as possible....like every good artist,.....step back from your work. they are fabulous. You must walk away and come back. appreciate it from all angles. look again on another day. Love your work..... give it time. Maria

  4. I had a really hard time with this one as well. I think your experiments look like they are well on the right track. I actually like seeing the experimentation and not just the finished product. In a way it is much more instructive than seeing only the finished 'perfected' piece. Keep it up.

  5. @Maria. Thank you. that means alot, coming from the one who created the tangle. I have shown it to some of my co=workers and they say good things aboutit, so I am warming up to it. I do like this one,I just am comparing too much to the masters of zentangle(you and rick) and I shouldn't do that. We each have our own techniques and I should know that.
@Eden, thankyou as well. I have a real hard time using the tiles. I have too much to say that just won't fit in a 3x3 square LOL..
I have an artist sketch book that i use and I trace the tile onto the pages so I am essentially still using the 3x3 but with several on a page. I will master this tangle because I do see sooo much potential for many many things with this one.....

  6. I think your proportions are right on and the tangle looks great. Mine wasn't nearly so even....

  7. @Terrie, and I felt like mine weren't right. Aww, we just need to quit being critical of our own works and learn to love what we do.. and Remember "there are no mistakes" in zentangle.lol!!
